Studio Policies:

SPRING RECITAL POLICY: 

All students at ODC are required to perform in our end-of-year Spring Recital. All recital dates are posted well in advance on odysseydancecompany.com on our yearly calendar. We expect all families to prioritize these dates and ensure their child's attendance at the following events: Dress Rehearsal, Picture Day, Rehearsal Week, and Spring Recital. If students drop classes after choreography has begun, the family must pay a $50 late drop fee to account for the extra time instructors must spend to reblock their choreography. Families are not required to purchase photo packages from picture day, but they are required to attend picture day with full hair and makeup. 

COSTUME FEES:

Costume fee is due in full on October 13th. Family is billed for one costume per class taken. If your family enrolls after October, fee will be due at the time of registration.

Costume fees are as follows:

Ballet/Tap Combo and Acrobatics 1: $75

All Other ODC Classes: $85

**Please note that Introductory Jazz and Contemporary and Turn Stretch Leap Conditioning do NOT perform in the Spring Recital.**

 

RECITAL FEE:

Our recital fee is $80 and is due January 11th, 2027. This fee includes a full recital video and also helps cover the cost of renting our performance space. Our 2027 Recital will take place at Pinecrest High School. Please see the Calendar tab for exact dates. 

DRESS CODE:

HAIR: All students are required to have hair pulled back for all classes. A ponytail is sufficient for all classes aside from Ballet, where dancers should have their hair in a bun. 

BALLET: Black Leotard and Ballet Pink Tights. Company dancers should purchase seamed tights. Pink Ballet Shoes with elastics properly sewn. 

TAP: Leotard with tights or black leggings and black tank top. Black Tap Shoes.

JAZZ: Black leggings and black tank top, Leotard and tights, or form-fitted top, dance shorts, with tights. Tan and Black Jazz Shoes. Recital Shoe color TBD. 

CONTEMPORARY: Long sleeves recommended for floor work. Leotard and tights. Bare Feet. 

ACROBATICS: Leotards (no attached skirts) with tights, Biketards, Gymnastics Leotards. Bare Feet. Low ponytail required. 

COMBO: Black or Blue Leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes. Ballet skirts may be worn.

**Baggy Clothing such as sweatpants, sweatshirts, t-shirts, and loose shorts are not permitted in any class. Exceptions made for hip-hop when offered.**

TUITION AND PAYMENT POLICY

Tuition is paid in equal, monthly installments- due on the 1st of each month. Tuition is not raised for months with 5 weeks of classes, or lowered for months with 2 or 3 weeks of classes. All families are required to enroll in Auto Pay at the time of registration. Tuition is considered late after the 1st of each month. There will be a $25 late fee charged to all past due accounts on the 5th of the month. If the card on file declines, you will be notified via email. 

 

PARENT/STUDENT CONDUCT POLICY:

Parents and guardians are expected to treat instructors, staff members, dancers, and fellow families with kindness, courtesy, and respect at all times. Disruptive, inappropriate, abusive, threatening, or otherwise negative behavior will not be tolerated. Odyssey Dance Company reserves the right to dismiss or expel any dancer and/or family from the program if a parent, guardian, or family member engages in conduct that is deemed detrimental to the well-being of our students, staff, or studio community and culture. Odyssey Dance Company is committed to maintaining a positive, supportive, and respectful environment for all dancers, families, and staff. We expect our dancers to maintain appropriate behavior in and out of class. Parents will be invited for a meeting if the student shows repeated behavioral issues. ODC Owners are permitted to remove any dancers from their program, effective immediately, if deemed necessary. No refunds of tuition or fees will be given in the case of expulsion. 

MAKEUP CLASS POLICY:

If a class is canceled for any reason, dancers have the opportunity to make up missed classes in a comparable class within 30 days. For example, Combo 1 students may attend Creative Movement, Combo 1, or Combo 2 in the event a class needs to be made up. No makeup classes available March-May. 

INCLIMATE WEATHER POLICY:

ODC follows the recommendations and decisions of Moore County Schools. If MCS is closed for weather of any kind, ODC will also close. If after school activities are canceled by MCS, ODC will also cancel. If MCS has a delayed opening, ODC will remain open. Please see makeup policy above. 

COMMUNICATION POLICY:

At ODC, we are passionte about having clear communication with our families. Miss Alessandra and Miss Leigh will handle all studio communication during business hours. Monday-Friday 12:00pm - 7:00pm. We ask that you communicate via the studio email and phone only. We kindly ask that parents refrain from contacting instructors outside of business hours unless otherwise scheduled.
